Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho has been sacked after a run of poor performance in the English premiership. His second stint at the club came to an inglorious end after a meeting with the club’s hierarchy earlier today.
Mourinho’s final game was against Leicester City, which the defending champion lost 2 – 1 away from home. After the match, Mourinho criticised for ‘betraying’ him.
Chelsea has lost 9 of their 16 games in the EPL campaign and are currently 16th on the table.
Mourinho, who only signed a new four-year contract on August 7, is Chelsea’s most successful manager till date.He won three Premier League titles, two of those in his first spell between 2004 and 2007.
The Portuguese manager also won the FA Cup, in 2007, and the League Cup three times – in 2005, 2007 and 2015.
Jaunde Ramos, Pep Guardiola, and Guus Hiddink have been touted as possible replacement for the Portuguese manager.
