He said he needs Nigerians to hear him, and this wasn’t about anything personal. My mother is 74, Buhari is 73, old age comes with sicknesses, ailments, problems, they find it difficult to even open their eyes when they wake up in the morning, he explained. Buhari is too old to rule Nigeria, he repeated.
When Olusegun Obasanjo ruled Nigeria at 62 we all called him baba, we all prostrated for him, now imagine Buhari coming at 73, his official age, we can’t call him baba, it will be rude you call a man as old as that using the word Pa to address him.
